What Intimacy Project Means to Me
By Shawnna Jocelyn, Co-Founder of Intimacy Project
The Intimacy Project is more than just a ministry to me—it’s my heart’s mission. When John and I started this journey, we didn’t just want to help couples connect better; we wanted to create something that would bring hope, healing, and faith into relationships. Life is hard, and I know firsthand how easy it is for love to take a back seat when challenges come your way. But I also know the power of God to restore what feels broken, to deepen what feels shallow, and to reignite what feels lost.
This project is personal. It’s born out of the lessons John and I have learned—sometimes the hard way—about what it takes to build and maintain intimacy. It’s about creating space for real conversations, for forgiveness, for laughter, and for faith to flourish. The Intimacy Project is my way of giving back, of helping couples and individuals experience the kind of love that transforms—not just between each other, but with God at the center.
-
It’s About Listening: Hearing each other’s hearts, not just the words they say.
-
It’s About Vulnerability: Being brave enough to share your truths and let love in.
-
It’s About Growth: Knowing you’re a work in progress and committing to becoming better, together.
-
It’s About Faith: Trusting that God is working in your relationships, even when it’s hard to see.
-
It’s About Connection: Building bonds that last, even when life gets messy.
For me, the Intimacy Project is a space where we can all learn, grow, and thrive together. It’s a reminder that no relationship is perfect, but with faith and intentionality, it can be strong, fulfilling, and full of love. This isn’t just a ministry; it’s a movement to help people feel seen, loved, and connected in every area of their lives.
And I’m honored to be walking this journey with you.
